Does anyone else’s baby still cry when you put them down for a nap?

My son is 10 months old and I’ve only just started putting him down for naps in his own bed with no assistance like rocking, bouncing, breastfeeding, and such and i’ve been doing it for around 2 weeks now and he’s been doing great. He doesn’t cry as long as he did when we first started at all, he cried for less than 5 minutes but it’s every time i put him down! Is that normal? Or is there a way for me to make bedtime and nap time better for him so that he doesn’t see it as me abandoning him or something?😭

We started when he’s 12 month old n he’s 13 months now n he doesn’t cry no more so give it a few more weeks maybe?

I rocked my now 21 month old until she was about 17 or 18 months old. But something that helped us transition is having a firm nap time and bedtime routine that we do every single day no matter what, I also have a baby monitor that I can talk to her through and when she’s upset (or messing around) I let her know that I can still see and hear her and I’m just in the other room. We have sang two songs (abcs and twinkle twinkle) before she falls asleep since she was 12 months old, so we sing that together now as I hold her next to her crib then I lay her down and tell her goodnight. She seems to do well with this, I’m not sure if this helps at all but I thought I would share our experience!

My son is now 5 and still cries when I tell him it’s nap time 😅
