Infrequent poos

Has anyone solved their baby’s infrequent poos? The GP said it’s somewhat normal that my baby only goes poo every 4-5 days but ERIC says otherwise and suggests it can cause issues further down the line. Today my baby also has quite firm poo and was in bad pain trying to get it out. Normally it’s a large amount of very soft/runny dark yellow poo. It’s been a while since we saw more regular poos. Combi fed since birth and only change was a switch from cows milk to goat milk formula a few weeks ago but poos were infrequent before that. https://eric.org.uk/childrens-bowels/baby-and-toddler-poo/

I’m having the same issue - been on lactulose on and off since 12 weeks (started after second vaccs), now 16 weeks and still reliant on it. Even then still infrequent. EBF here.

My LO is 12 weeks and EBF, I am vegan and have a very high fibre diet, veggies, beans, tofu etc, I also have probiotics and fermented foods etc, she poos daily, often more than once, always runny. Never had any tummy issues. If you don't already maybe adding in more fibre to your diet might help. X

@Mikaila I am also vegetarian and lots of fibre. He used to poop like that then suddenly changed after vaccinations and not gone back to normal. The ones he does are still runny he just struggles to pass them. Doctor has said likely infant dyschezia and should grow out of it 🤞🏻

@Tierney which vaccinations did they change with? My LG just got her second lot yesterday. Fingers crossed it resolves itself.

My EBF is 15 weeks and goes every 7-9 days! The GP said it was nothing to worry about as she's EBF

@Mikaila slight constipation after 8 weeks, then resolved but now has been like this since 12 weeks. I suspect the rotavirus component. He has his 16 weeks tomorrow 🤞🏻

@Claire I agree I wouldn’t be worried, it’s only because mine gets very grouchy and spends every minute straining until he goes again! Then he’s a happy baby for about 24 hours then the cycle repeats 😢

@Tierney fingers crossed for you! My LG has been rather fussy since her jabs. 💔
