@Chloe thank you 💕 am going to look into some reading books now 💕 xxx
My little boy watched a paralympian on tv a while ago which sparked a big conversation about limb differences, he was so interested when we started to look up disabled athletes, so if there’s something she’s interested in, perhaps see if there are any differently abled people that do it that you can show her as well?
I showed my little child the greatest showman song to show her that people are all unique in their own way. I can tell she doesn't understand very well still but it seems to be working more every time I show her.
Normal to be scared of different and the unfamiliar- however, this age is THE best age to start talking about how we’re all unique. Knowing that sometimes it’s things we can see on our bodies, other times it’s things we can’t, sometimes it’s what our families are like, where we live, what we eat etc. that nobody is exactly the same and that’s what makes us amazing! And importantly, that everyone deserves to be treated with kindness. Lots of brilliant picture books, toys and other resources out there to help as well.
