My son didn’t eat anything at nursery

My toddler is not the best eater at the moment he is very fussy, when I picked him up the nursery didn’t say anything, when I checked the app all the food where none , so he basically didn’t eat anything since 7.30 this morning at breakfast, I am aware that he is a fussy eater but shouldn’t nursery let me know and offer an alternative to him or try and feed him? And the fact that they didn’t tell me nothing at all and I had to find out was even worst, does anyone have any advice on how should I approach this ?

Offering an alternative is tricky in a nursery. Do you not get notifications via the app. Them selecting none is them notifying you but you could probably request them calling you or bringing him in a packed lunch but you'd have to make sure it follows their guidelines. As a mother I know how you feel as I'd be irritated that my son hadn't eaten, but then also as a childcare provider I understand because I can't be making different meals for every child but also don't want to be accepting packed lunches as the last thing I need is the kids kicking off because they want what another child has. Have a word about options with the nursery but do just bare in mind how tricky it can be for multiple children

I'd absolutely pick this up with them, to if anything offered ? What happened during the day Does LO feel OK? Our LB is fussy too, he refuses his lunch (it's a cooked lunch) and sometimes breakfast. They have started offering breakfast alittle later as he has yoghurt drink at home before we leave and like me doesn't eat as soon as up. He usually given crackers for lunch with a little cheese, which he eats. They also have mid morning snacks which he eats 🤦‍♀️

Thank you both for the reply, he is fussy but usually he eats some bits here and there, he has a molar coming through but he still has appetite, the app gets updated when I pick him up so I do not get any updates till 4:30 pm 🙈 I will have a chat with them on Friday, as soon as he got home he ate a banana breadsticks and 2 baby bells so he was definitely very hungry

Oh that's irritating on the app updating late. The one I use parents are updated instantly. Yeah definitely have a chat. Hopefully a solution can be made!
