Relactation

My son was born May 21st and we started off breastfeeding, but it didn’t work out so well and he had allergies. I ended up saving some of my milk and used it yesterday in combination with his formula. He had no reactions whatsoever and did perfectly fine. I know it’s gonna be more challenging now that he’s 5 months. Does anyone have tips on relactating or what kind of pump to get to help?

How long has it been since you last pumped or breastfed?

Following! I’m in the same situation. Wishing you the best of luck, @Christy Lukins ♥️

Following. As I did not know that you could just start breastfeeding again. I thought one to stop breastfeeding. That was it, but I also heard that if you have one drop in your breast, that you can hand express out that you are able to then restart pumping and expressing your milk again to bring back your milk supply, but it would take a great deal of effort. On their part

@Jess about 3.5 months. I have a little milk coming out of my right for no reason and that’s what made me curious.

Awhhh! My son was born May 22nd!! Happy 5 months to our kiddos! You can absolutely do this! It’s going to take time and patience, but it’s possible! My best tip would be to get on a schedule, pump every 2-3 hours, and use one of those sessions to power pump as well. I would also say to stay encouraged, it will be easy to get discouraged from doing this when you don’t see much at first, but this is where the patience part comes in. Good luck mama! Feel free to reach out if you need any more help. PS I’m currently using the baby Buddha, but I used the Spectra pump my last kid

When you feel yourself getting discouraged, remember why you’re doing this, but also watch relactation videos on TikTok or IG!
