Offering bottle to breastfed baby

Any success stories? We’ve tried offering a bottle occasionally of breast milk which he took a couple of times but really isn’t interested now. Have tried different brands and bottles. Open to trying formula! My firstborn never took a bottle and this time round I’d really like the comfort of knowing little one would take a bottle if I wasn’t there for any reason! 8 weeks old.

Yes, sort of. We’re in the same position except my little one is 12 weeks. Took a bottle of breast milk occasionally when he was younger but we weren’t consistent with it and then started to refuse. I tried different bottles and the one that seems to be working (we’re practicing every day now) is Minbie. Other than that, I think it just takes a lot of patience. I was also told to get his dad to feed him (or someone not you) without me nearby because babies can smell the milk and want the boob so won’t take the bottle, so you can also try that.

We introduced a bottle of expressed for age 3 weeks and given one most nights and he takes it fine. You got to he consistent with it. My 1st wouldn't entertain one!

My girl will take a bottle off my parents but not me or my husband. We use the nuk perfect match ones x

i use phillip avent and dr browns bottle he enjoys them

Our wee boy was good at taking one in the first few weeks but we stopped being consistent so reintroduced over the last couple of weeks. Health visitor said to be consistent in making sure we do it every day. I’ve found he’s quite happy to take it from me, and now he’s accepting it from my husband too. We’re just using expressed breast milk - or, actually, the let down from one boob while he’s feeding on the other haha! He doesn’t seem to keen on formula 🙈

I introduced my baby girl to the bottle with my expressed milk from her first week of life to make night time feed easier. We are successful in combining daytime breastfeeding with night time bottle feeding. I would also advocate for consistency
