Getting out the house on my own!

I am a mum of 2 now and obviously just having the one child to get out the house is a mission in itself but I’m really struggling with 2 and still haven’t found my groove despite the fact we’re nearly 3 months in! For example today I had every intention in getting out for a bit go for a walk and go to the local park for some fresh air, but as soon as I started getting stuff ready to go I’ve got my oldest kicking off because he’s refused his nap and didn’t sleep well the night before so is super grouchy, and then my little one starts because he is getting tired! And has gas! I just gave up in the end and took all their shoes and coats off etc. and that was that! I feel so defeated some days! We rarely get out the house in the week as I find it hard so I make sure we get out of a weekend when my partner is around for an extra helping hand! But I just feel like a shit mum for not being able to do it by myself!

You’re not on your own I completely relate. Some days if we are going out I can’t get out until like 3pm we it takes that long to get ready. Some days I just give up and think I cba. But I end up feeling so bad that other people can manage it so why can’t I?

I’ve not been able to get out of the house by myself with two kids either! You’re not alone!

I've just tried to get out with my six week old and my two year old, made it all the way to where we were supposed to be going but two year old started kicking as he wanted to go somewhere else and was due a nap so ended up back in the car driving round till he fell asleep now back in the driveway waiting for him to wake up again, bright side its my own driveway to nipped in to make a brew while i drink it in the car 😅

It's hard!! I rarely get out and if I do go and meet somebody I have everything ready the night before but even then sometimes it still takes me 3 hours before I'm actually ready to leave the house 🤣

Ive got 3, my oldest being 3 years old. You need a double pram. Honestly just put them both in the pram and go. If older one wants to walk let them once you get out the door. I put my nearly 2 year old in pram first, then 2 month old then sort the 3 year old last. Basically whichever one is likely to strip themself first gets strapped in first 🤣

Also another thing ive learned is dont argue with them about the small stuff. They want to wear their dressing gown? Let them, wellies in 30 degree weather? Let them. Its honestly not a big deal and as long as theyre warm enough it doesnt matter

I best I've managed so far is getting us all ready and out...to my mum's house. We've had one play date as well but I haven't taken them out properly on my own. My husband is still home so I haven't needed to but I am a but worried how I will get us all dressed and out on my own

@Ebony-Rose mine just want to be naked 🫠 no socks, so shoes, back in the jungle.

I have a 3 years old and a 2 months old. If I can choose, I would rather stay at home cause I like to be cozy at home and my newborn wouldn't mind. I go out because my 3 years old needs to be active but at the same time he is also the one who drags to go out cause he hates putting cloth on 😔 he is at least half naked still at home in this temperature now, cause I'm just so lazy to want to argue/fight with him about putting on cloths. Take it easy, if you manage to go, great, if not it's fine, try another time

I know it's not the same because my eldest is older but I dread the school run. He's 9 so not able to walk to and from school but it always happens that the baby is asleep/decides to poo/needs a feed at bang on 3pm. I sit for ages stressing about the logistics of it. Yesterday I made the decision to feed him in the car outside school he took ages to feed and I didn't have time to burp him properly. Then he was sick all over my shoulder as we walked back to the car 🙄

Really thought I was alone in the struggle😭by the time I get my 2 month old dressed my 3 year old has already drenched herself with water/juice

@Terri 😂😂😂omg this happens to me when I do my toddlers nursery run at 3pm
