How many words is your LO saying? My son is 13mos and only says mama and dada when he cries. But I feel like he doesn’t even understand a lot of other words like yes, no, hello etc. We speak to him in 2 languages could this be why? Or am I expecting too much too soon?

She saying hiya, mama, dada, duck, bye and woof woof. It's definitely normal for children who are exposed to different languages to take a bit longer to speak. I wouldn't worry 🙂
No words other than babble mama dada etc.

Mine can only say mama, dada or yay. I think she understands her name and simple words like “stop” and “come here”. We speak to her in four languages. I think it’s normal, especially for children exposed to many languages. Some children I know from bilingual families didn’t speak even at two years old.
