Sleep Sack to Blanket Transition

How and when did you transition your baby to a blanket? I've been feeling anxious about doing the transition. My LO is 14 months and is growing out of his sleep sack. I don't want to have to buy more, but I'm so scared to let him go a whole night with only a blanket. I've done a couple of naps with a blanket, but he usually stays pretty much in one spot for naps. At night, he is sometimes all over the crib. I don't want him to be cold, and even though I know he should be old enough, I'm so afraid of SIDS. Any tips on how to get over my anxiety and make the switch?

As long as you put him in a long sleeve onsie and the room is a good temperature, he will be fine. If he's cold, he will wake up and let you know. If you try it for a week and he keeps waking up then you can order a bigger size sleep sack. 90% of sids cases happen before 6 months. So it's a very low risk at this point.

@Chelsi we keep our house colder at night. According to the monitor, it's usually between 64-66 in his room. So I keep him in a onsie, a fleece sleep n play, and a 1 TOG sleep sack

That's where my husband would want the house. 66-68 probably. But my son just gets cold feet and I've told him he can keep it up or he can get up with him lol. Definitely one of the reasons I'm slowly introducing the blanket myself.

@Chelsi I appreciate the screenshots for the blanket and pillow
