Nappy changing !!!!

Hey ladies :) my little girl is 14 months now, and ever since she started walking shortly after turning 1, she DOES NOT like to have her nappy changed 😩 I really try to leave as much of a gap between nappy changes as I can but she just hates them either way! She starts off by running away and hiding as soon as she sees me take out a clean nappy or some wipes. It becomes a game for her to run away and hide and she’s laughing, but as soon as I lay her on the changing table she just goes into a meltdown😩 she’s twisting and turning and wriggling around, whilst screaming trying to get away! I started putting her changing mat on the floor to change her out of fear she would roll off the table. I try to hold her down but I’m obviously cautious of hurting her, but I don’t want her to spread her mess on the carpet. As soon as she’s finished she’s completely fine and back to herself as if nothing happened. I’ve tried giving her something to hold during her changing time, something to play with, something to watch to distract her, but nothing works! I’ve also tried using warm wipes in case it’s the cold she’s doesn’t like but that hasn’t worked either! I find it hard to keep my cool sometimes especially when I’m in a rush or these last few days since I’ve been sick, just wondered if anyone else is experiencing this and has any tips?! Thanks! 😢

My little boy has been the same recently, I've started putting action songs on like wind the bobbin up, happy and you know it and he claps etc long enough for me to get him changed quickly 😅

Unfortunately no tips here but empthaty and sympathy. My boy has been the same he had a patch while he was crawling and now (hopefully just another phase) that he is walking. We basically try to make it as quick as possible and not make a fuss about him being a little shit. The more attention he gets during the change the more wriggly and arsey he is. I think its just a phase because they want to be free and run around doing what they want and nappy change = trapped not doing what they want. He seems to be starting to settle now we are ignoring him during it and then making a big fuss about him afterwards (like a reward).

we've had that- I'm changing his nappy while standing now and he finds it hilarious 🤷🏻‍♀️ you can clip the vest over the shoulder, then there's no mess on clothes 😊

Pull ups all the way! My little girl is a complete nightmare with nappy changes at the moment and it makes it so much easier x
