Baby Measuring Small

Hey! Looking for some comfort really and/or similar experience stories. Just went for my midwife appointment (27+4) and had the fundal height measurement which showed that my baby is under the 10th percentile and considered small so was referred for a scan. The scan isn’t for another 3 weeks so I’m worried. She did say that he was moving so the measurement may not be accurate but my paranoid head isn’t letting me stop thinking about it.

I'm 29 weeks and our bubs is on the 3rd centile. We've been having scans every 2 weeks for the past month or so, had all the extra blood tests and whatnot and everything is fine, just a small baby. We still have to be monitored every couple weeks, but I know how you feel. At the beginning I had so many sleepless nights worrying about it, but other than size, the baby is moving around and has a good heartbeat, so no other concerns. Don't stress too much, if they were worried they would see you sooner!

Honestly try not to worry, the measurements aren’t very accurate. I was told I was 5th centile recently then at my scan referral they said I’m 53rd centile. He explained that people carry different so the tape measurements aren’t very accurate, even the scans are also +/- 20% x

Thank you! They just called me asking me to come in today which is good. Baby’s heartbeat was good at the appointment and I can feel him moving around. I am relatively small so hoping he was just scrunched up during the measurement. Thanks again!

I was also told this yesterday and then went for a scan on the same day and was told everything is perfectly normal! Hi btw- I’m also in Motherwell 💕xx

Please try not to worry, I don't want to say the measurements are bollocks but they pretty much are 😅 My first pregnancy they told me my baby would be 10lb mark she came out 5lb 13 never once got picked up she was small. They will send you for a growth scan and I promise you it'll say it's normal! I don't know why they do these measurements with the bump it just makes parents worry!
