Struggling

I'm unwell and my 8 week old baby isn't sleeping at night - think they are struggling with wind! I can only get them to day nap by walking in the pram or on me, so struggling to get a nap in too. They hate the carrier/sling, hatesl doing tummy time, and my partner's comments have made me paranoid that I'm not doing enough to strengthen their neck (though I know he didn't intend to make me feel bad) Anyone else feel like they aren't doing a good job? I went to a group yesterday, and all of the mums seemed so confident and at ease.

Has little one always struggled at night or is it recently

@Samantha I'd say the last couple of weeks (last night in particular though!) In the early days I'd have to wake for a feed, otherwise would happily sleep through

It is normal for babies not to sleep through as they do need food. How often is the baby waking in the night? If they sleep better in the pram then I would just stick with that for now.

Have a look at the lullaby trust on the nhs website on safe sleeping that might help you both get a nap in the day. And you’ll be doing a great job don’t worry. Other mums might seem like they are confident and at ease but I can confidently say we are winging it too ❤️

Don't stress about tummy time as you can easily do that on your chest rather than the floor. And most babies hate tummy time as it makes them work. Sleep will get better over time, and everything else will fall into place. Take care
