RSV

Hi all, Just wondering what everyone’s thoughts and feeling are to the rsv vaccine? I know it’s new in the uk and I don’t know what to do! My little boy is due in January and every health professional I see is telling me to get it but I’m worried as it’s new.

I got it last month I think now , I asked a bunch of questions about it turns out the RSV jab has more research put into it than the Covid vaccine ever did which says it all really .. personally with that information I’m only having RSV and skipping the flu and Covid personally think it’s overload to mix all 3 together. I got the RSV and the only side effect I’d say I got from it was the next day I was VERY very tired slept that whole day practically but the day after that absolutely fine and been fine since

Had it with zero issues my last winter baby was hospitalised twice because of rsv so anything to help this time round also it's only new to us it's been around years in other countries so there's lots of research available

They use it on old people and kids already it's just been approved for pregnant ladies so it's been around for some time if that helps

As someone who’s 5 week old daughter was rushed to hospital with low oxygen and ended up on a feeding tube and oxygen mask I’m definitely going to be getting it! It’s a horrible horrible virus and defintely worth getting the vaccine if offered x

I had it last week, baby due next month. Not a problem for me. I believe my immunity against it will protect baby.

This has made my mind go at ease, thank you for whoever put up this post, going to book mines in now x

@Bhavina me too!! I've been thinking about it for weeks wasn't offered when I had my son 3½ years ago so hard when things are newly offered here to know what to do

I had it and just had a bit of sore arm for a couple days. I’ve seen what RSV can do and honestly I’ll do anything to keep it at bay! Im being induced in 18 days and as its peak winter I want to protect baba at all costs! X

I will be getting it in this pregnancy. My son was seriously unwell in hospital with RSV at 8weeks old and it’s something I do not ever wish to go through again. It broke me, I will definitely be getting it.

I had mine a few weeks ago, no side effects afterwards. Not even a little sniffle. Left me a big bruise but all was good 😊 I’d have it again x

I won’t be having it as too new. How many women who have had the jab have had their babies yet? Millions of babies have been born before the jab
