Own room - slowly killing me off đź«

EVERYONE SAID “SHE’LL SLEEP BETTER IN HER OWN ROOM, YOU ALL WILL.” Well what absolute bullsh*t. She’s been in her own room for about 10 days now and what an absolute sh*t show of sleep we’ve all had. Up every hour-hour & half with some wakings being 2hr+. I think in the past 4 nights (the worst ones) I’ve collectively had 5hrs sleep. All naps are contact so I don’t get a chance to “catch up” then and I’m wondering how the f*ck I am still functioning. I struggle to transfer her when she falls asleep- floppy and\or dummy out = deep sleep. I put in cot and seconds later she’s awake. Sleep was always unpredictable when she was with us but NEVER like this. Roll on the weekend when it will be “dada” turn (can’t help in the week, Tesco delivery driver for a job so would be FAR TOO DANGEROUS) Rant over.

I'm sorry you are going through this :( sleep deprivation is honestly the worst. Not sure what to suggest, to be honest..the only thing I'm thinking of is how cold is the bed when you put her down? Could it be a change of temperature between body and bed? At the beginning, I used to warm the mattress with a hot water bottle, and it seemed to do the trick..now she is in a sleep bag so is all good. How did she sleep before?

My son was the same I think maybe some form of sleep training maybe? That’s what I had to do he’s 3 now we used Ferber method we was DESPERATE! and it worked in 2 nights I contact napped with my son and had to stop he did do cat naps but I. Time extended them. Once he learnt to self soothe at night he went in his bed for naps too xx

Have a look at introducing self soothing methods xx

Could you start putting her in the cot for day naps, too? My baby girl co-sleeps and contact naps. I want to transition her into her cot and own room. Yesterday I started. I took her to her room with black out blinds, turned on her white noise, and I fed her, then put her in her cot, I picked her up when she cried, rocked, and soothed her. Then, when she was in her cot, I sang and patted her bum until she fell asleep. The first time, it took 35 mins, but today it took 10! I'm going to keep up with these naps in the hope it's an easier transition for nighttime. I will also gradually stop soothing her in hopes that she'll start to self soothe herself to sleep 🤞 Maybe you could do the same? It's best to put them down awake and then soothe them in their cot. Otherwise, they wake up because they are in a different place from where they went to sleep. They need to be drowsy and awake 🫠 which I didn't think was possible until yesterday. Good luck
