I just don't know what to do anymore

First time mum, EBF 15 week old. My LO wont sleep unless I feed him to sleep. He wakes up every hour and stays awake feeding on and off for an hour before falling asleep on the boob. If I don't feed him, he cries and fussed for hours - literally won't fall asleep unless held. My back is killing me, I'm in pain. I'm so sleep deprived and run down my skin has started to break out. My partner refuses to help - he's too stressed with work. When does this get easier? Who can I go to for support? UK based. I just don't know how much longer I can keep going. I'm physically and mentally done.

We’re in the same boat :(

My son is 14 weeks, only wants boob… he’ll sleep from 1am to 8-9am but other than that he won’t take anything other than boob, including for comfort.

For one, your partner needs to step up, it’s not a YOU job it’s a responsibility both of you hold. I’m way to stubborn to let any of that slide when I got too tired to where i couldn’t stay awake anymore I pumped a bottle and gave it to my fiancé with the baby and went to bed. And when I woke up my fiancé said “I know how you feel now” and started helping a lot more. As for the feeding part, have you tried a dummy? It sounds like your little one is cluster feeding which is completely normal, and I would talk to your baby’s health care specialist on ways to help you through this time, but the dummy helped my little one soothe himself to sleep, also I would try music or a sound machine and swaddle (or sleep bag) to help keep them asleep. It does get easier I promise

Local infant feeding team or a breastfeeding cafe x

Would you consider bed sharing? We also have a boob obsessed baby and found that night feedings were so much easier if he was already in the bed with me. I just pop a boob out when he starts to get fussy. Now neither of us really wake up at all as we’re so well practised! It’s not for everyone though and needs to be done safely.
