Weighted sleep sack

Day 2 of using my dreamland weighted sleep sack and my baby sleeps so Much better. But I just saw a law suit against them. Regarding its safety issues. Does anyone else use this ?? My husband thinks it’s overall safe but I’m unsure now.

I wouldn’t chance it.I threw mines away

Weighted sleep sacks as a rule are considered dangerous. They do seem to work in getting newborns to sleep deeper and longer, but the thing is that newborns aren't meant to sleep like that. They wake up. They cry. That's what they do. There is a reason. Lots of gimmicks are out there to get babies to sleep better, but I wouldn't chance it with anything that might put my baby at risk unnecessarily.

Personally I wouldn’t risk it. There have been several deaths linked to use of them. If baby is young enough and not rolling I would use a swaddle we loved the Sleepea Swaddle but you can use any swaddle. If your baby is older and rolling we are using the Halo swaddle transition sleep sack which is thicker but safe for rolling. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/safety-concerns-arise-over-weighted-baby-sleeping-products-after-cpsc-warning/

We used the dreamland sleep sacks and never had any issues with them. Honestly was a life saver for us. Both my baby and I absolutely loved it.

You don’t want your baby sleeping better so to speak . Newborns especially are meant to wake up not stay asleep. Every two hours might be challenging but a crying baby is an alive baby

I’d rather a baby wake up in the night then possibly die from a weighted sleep suit. Not worth the risk to me, I’d definitely get rid of it.
