Heading up a wheat pack and warming the bassinet first

@Ellen what's a wheat pack?

Sometimes it's rice instead of wheat but I just use an electric heating pad, so long as you're super safe with it and remove it before laying baby down and keeping it away from the crib otherwise. Another tip is when you lay them down, allow their head and shoulders to make contact first rather than feet or bottom.

Low lights always help, I read him a story, then wrap in his swaddle/sleep sack. I used to rock him to sleep or my husband does (he’s 7 weeks), but I’ve started putting him in the crib while he’s drowning and keeping my arm along his body and my other hand near his face so he falls asleep and eventually associates the crib with feeling safe. I put him in on his side first, using my arm along his body and transition him to his back so he doesn’t startle. He’s usually asleep within 5 minutes
