Storing expressed/pumped milk

Hey all, so I have a query as there are mixed messages online about storing hand expressed milk in the fridge - I’m sticking to using it before 4 days but I accidentally added fresh breast milk to a bottle I had stored in the fridge 2 days prior and apparently it needs to be cool before mixing? The whole body temp thing passed my mind 🫣 can I still warm the bottle for my 3 week old newborn? My partner has only given her 3 oz before and a smaller bottle before that, only on 2 separate occasions. I haven’t used a pump yet as still want to keep breastfeeding until the full 6-8 weeks, but aim to pump 1-2 times a day. I have storage bags for this so planning to use those from now on to avoid any contamination or bacteria. Do you pump from both breasts and put in the same bag?

Yeah so the fresh milk you added to the 2 day old milk makes the fresh milk now 2 days old. For the mixing milk temps I only did it if there was more cold milk than the warm I was adding. But lots of people say it doesn’t really matter. I’d still use the milk And yes you can put breast milk from both breasts into 1 bag ☺️

@Sarah thank you for the answer! I’ll use the bottle that I have now and yes I only expressed a little into the cold milk I had, so hopefully won’t do too much harm!

@Romany of course! It will totally be okay 😊
