Has anyone else gone through this?

My 3 month old has gotten super fussy lately. Every time my husband tries to feed him or put him to sleep, he just starts crying nonstop. He was fine before but this started about two weeks ago. He’ll be happy with my husband for a little bit but as soon as he gives him the bottle, it’s like all hell breaks loose. I’m not into letting him cry it out so after a while, I usually end up taking him back when I see he’s not calming down. I feel bad for my husband because I can tell he gets frustrated and sometimes I don’t know I don’t like the way he talks to the baby like he’s a grown-up or something. I feel the baby feels that.

….what does he say to the baby?

(As for the baby part) Yup, pretty sure my baby has started teething. He’s been so much harder to put down for naps and sleep

Does your baby spit up? My baby has reflux and whar are you describing was one of the symptoms. But theirs is definitely something bothering him! Please call your pediatrician and make sure you tell them :)

@Rosa I don’t mean anything bad by it, It’s hard to explain lloll. Like when I talk to the baby I’m always super soft and gentle but when the baby’s crying sometimes he’ll be like ‘chill chill’ example as if he’s talking to an older kid.

@Katrina Omg I was thinking the same thing but isn’t 3 months a bit too early to start teething? 😭 I’m also struggling with naps. he used to fall asleep so easily, but now he fights it every time

@Andrea sorry, I didn’t think you meant anything bad by it. I was just trying to understand better how he was with the baby. And yep I think a baby does respond to a certain approach. And does feel the stress of a person holding them. The that person will inevitably start to anticipate that response, and so it goes on. Hopefully it improves as he gets older, albeit that doesn’t help you much right now.

@Rosa Oh no worries, I didn’t take it that way at all! I just wasn’t sure how to explain it. Hehe and yess babies can definitely pick up on stress & I guess we’re stuck in a bit of a cycle with that. 😭 it’s hard when he only wants me, especially when I need a break. Hopefully, it’ll get easier as he gets older!

@Katrina 3 mon really starts teething? Mine will be 4mon next month but drooling non stop! And plays with the nipple during feeding! And I noticed he eat less

@Andrea they can start at 3 months. I haven’t felt any teeth but definitely noticed the shift. Drooling, wanting to chew on everything, more fussy and restless @Michelle

Mine went through a period before and during the 4 month regression where only I and my mom could put her to sleep. she wouldn't sleep for my husband at all, even though she previously would. I think it was a combination of the regression and separation anxiety, because she was also screaming if I put her down for any reason and even if my husband would take her and play with her to give me a break to make dinner, she would scream for me the whole time. It only lasted a month or two. Kids in general will go through phases where they pick a "favourite" parent. Right now dad is the clear winner. It will pass, trust me.

@Andrea my baby boy has started teething as well and has been much fussier.
