How do I stop my toddler from smacking himself throwing himself on the floor?

So when my son does something naughty I tell him off and say “no you can’t do that” and he then gets so frustrated and smacks his head and face with his 2 hands and he then cries and throws himself on the floor. He does this when I’m out aswell and idk how to stop him from doing it. Has anyone got any tips/advise? As everyone always gives me dirty looks and makes me feel like a crap mum

My son does the same too. I’m following this

@Chichi I don’t know if it’s normal for toddlers or whether I should take him to the doctors?🤔

It seems normal behaviour- the terrible 2s stage ?-some may 'experience' it worse than other children? One of my brothers was like this and to an extent worse, he grew out of it

Sounds like normal behavior. You can try telling him what he can do instead of what he can’t do. Like “walk” instead of “don’t run”

I second what @Sarah has said. 'Can we use our walking feet' etc

Currently going through this for the first time - super fun!!!!!!

This sounds like normal toddler behaviour. When my little one does it I tend to hold him like I’m cuddling him. 1. So he doesn’t hurt himself. 2. After a fair bit of research they do this in the search for comfort so I find it calms my little boy down pretty quickly xx
