Vaccines

Has anybody asked the nurse to only administer 2 vsccines and book another day for other 2? 4 needles just seems like torture😫 My little boy has them tomorrow

Oh my God! Mine too. 11:55am I’m so scared

@Fay my boy’s are 1:45. I really don’t agree with the 4 in one go situation. I know they won’t remember it but I will!

@Kelsie I would say though that one and done sounds like a better idea than two separate trips- even for them. They won’t remember a thing after a week possibly due to the soreness but these are the heaviest ones so I would get them done all at once because watching it twice, no chance I’ll return to the gp for a year x

I done it all in 1 go. I couldn’t bring her in a second time and go through it all again. I thought she might as well get it over and done with in one go. The worst was the MMR, it left a bruise and a lump for weeks. After the first 2 she did not cry that much but it just broke my heart seeing her like that. X

I am undecided as to what I’m going to do tbh, I just think it’s so unfair putting them through 4..I wouldn’t sit there for 4 injections no way

@Bercem did she have a temperature? And what kind of a lump are we talking about please 😭

It was like a little bigger than a pea size lump where the injection was. She did have a temperature for about two days, gave calpol and she was fine the third day. Nurse said even if she doesn’t get a temperature straight away they can still get a temperature about two weeks after the vaccine. Luckily she didn’t x

@Bercem thank you so much for letting me know the nurse told us normally they don’t get a temperature etc but I think they should be honest because typically they have a fever I’m so scared of the fever business I can’t keep myself together x

@Fay your welcome, they should of given you a leaflet with all the information about the vaccines that they have administered and the side effects and what to look out for and what to do if there is any concern. I was given after each vaccination. Hope your LO is ok x

I am doing this. I am having them all except the mmr which will be delayed until January. My boy has already caught measles when he was 6 months old, so I’m not too stressed about delaying it xx

@Bercem they see us as a number not as a human so no leaflet was given but I can see my son feels sore and uncomfortable when I’m changing his nappy and I touch his thigh. When did you LO have fever and how many days did it last? Was it high temperature sorry for bothering x

@Fay no its ok honestly. she had her jabs late morning and had fever towards the evening. It was fluctuating but didn’t go over 38.1 degrees. I gave calpol 2 times a day for 2 days. Third day she was fine but her thigh was still sore every time i touched it she would cry a bit so i tried extra careful not to touch it. The nurse shoved the needle in so hard it bled a bit at the GP. Maybe thats why it had a bruise for about two weeks.x
