Advice

Any advice on moving your family out of state to better your self and your family.. I am terrified to leave my mom, dad, siblings… all of that. How do I cope with leaving? Nothing is here except my family. Do I do what’s best for the family I am creating? This is been an internal battle for a while now and don’t know what to do. I want to leave and move to experience life but that guilt of taking the grandbaby away is hard

If it’s in your gut that it’s the best decision for your family then you just have to do it. I waited so long for the same reason even though I knew it’s what was best. Once we moved I then wished we would have done it so much sooner as our quality of life was so much better

I did the moving away thing. It’s hard, but you can always move back after a year if it doesn’t work out. Things that make it easier: Pre-plan trips home with dates already set. (More is better the first year). Pre-plan trips to see you there. Stay connected, send lots of pics and updates via text of FB. Schedule a weekly phone call same day and time every week. Example Wednesdays at 7pm. And where ever you go, don’t buy a house, rent the first year to make sure moving back is easy if you want to come back or go somewhere else you only have to wait til your lease is up and you’re good to go.

I did it same reason to better the life for my little family it was one of the best things I've done until recently

I moved across the country a year before my daughter was born. It's still hard sometimes but I'm glad I did it. If it helps, you rarely regret the things you do but often regret what you don't do...

my man and i moved out of state when i was pregnant. i left all my family behind! i will say it’s hard not being near them, i know if we were i’d have more help with my daughter. and it can feel a little scary knowing i’m 900 miles away. but we are happy here raising our daughter where we love to be! go with your gut, if it’s the best choice for the family you’re creating then i say go for it. you can always travel and your fam can come visit. lots of facetime too. change is always hard
