Holiday

Going to Spain next week and I’m petrified my daughter is going to get poorly whilst we’re there and I’m looking for any sign of things wrong now which is making me worse. She sounded slightly chesty and has woken wingey (which isn’t like her, she sleeps 7-6) what do I do? Cancel and lose money and upset my other children? Has anyone’s babies been poorly abroad? I’m a nervous wreck!

My LO had an ear infection & tonsillitis 3 days before we flew long haul. The docs were really good & put him on a strong antibiotic straight away as they knew we were flying which started working within 24 hours for him so we were lucky. However, when we were away he caught a separate infection & we ended up at the hospital for treatment but the healthcare was really good & everyone was so attentive because he was so young. Don’t over think too much! If you really think something is wrong with her go to the docs as soon as possible so she can get started on any medication she may need now. Also… not sure how long you’re going for, we went for 2 weeks & I took 2 bottles of calpol & 2 of neurofen which I was so pleased I took. Ended up actually lending some out to other parents as they hadn’t brought any with them & their little one had caught the same infection as ours.

We are going for 5 days but I am dreading it. She has just got up screaming and extremely hot to touch but no temperature. We are flying late at night too so I know she will be over tired and don’t know if I’ve done the right thing not cancelling

I would get a doctor's appointment asap. My lo currently has tonsillitis and an ear infection and was given 5 days of Antibiotics. Just make sure you have the correct travel insurance for in the worst case scenario but enjoy the holiday. The weather would probably do them good!

Also to add I also make sure we have every medicine Calpol, ibuprofen, portion and calamine lotion as well as a thermometer
