Stopping breast feeding

Hey girls does anyone have any tips to stop breastfeeding? I exclusively breastfed for 4 months then have 30% bottle to 70% breast since then (when she’s with my mother or when we’re out and about) but I want to fully stop now and just have my body back 😭 I’ve heard cold turkey is the best but my boobs just get ROCK hard and drip everywhere so I end up putting her on How do I avoid mastitis aswell had it once horrible feeling! I think she’ll be okay with out the boob I don’t have any worries about her ITS ME IM WORRIED ABOUT🥲🥲

Well done for breastfeeding this far 🩷 Cold turkey isn’t recommended as you risk mastitis. Taken from La Lèche League: “If you are actively working towards stopping breastfeeding, cut out one feed per day, no more often than every two or three days. This will allow your milk production to decrease slowly avoiding uncomfortable fullness and reducing your risk of becoming engorged or developing mastitis. If your breasts feel uncomfortably full or painful, take action to relieve engorgement—it’s easiest to just breastfeed. Even a short feed or hand expressing a small amount of milk can make a difference.” https://laleche.org.uk/thinking-of-weaning/

@Jessica thank you so much !❤️❤️

First I stopped pumping then slowly ween boob. Super hard but doable!

I'm not ready to stop yet but I've never heard anyone say cold turkey is best, as you will likely get mastitis

I stopped at 7 months by dropping every other feed then only feeding morning and night then stopped. I used cabbage leaves and ibuprofen for the pain but you can get some sudofed stuff to help dry up also never tried it but gp recommend it.
