When to stop milk

At what age do kids stop having milk “feeds”? Apparently they don’t need bottles after 12 months…is this true? Do you still give milk after 12 months even if they get calcium from other sources (yoghurt, cheese etc)?

My LO is 22 months and has milk in a sippy cup in morning and before bed. I think it’s recommended to get them off baby bottles at 12 months and use a type of cup instead

It’s recommended to stop bottles by 18 months. My son does drink milk now at almost 3 but not a ton. At daycare he has it in his cereal and I’ll give him some when he asks at home. He mostly drinks water though and doesn’t drink anything else. We never used sippy cups, just straw cups or open cups. Our pediatrician recommends no more than 20oz per day of milk.

Our daughter is 26 months. She does not drink milk. Once she stopped bottle feeding around 1 on breastmilk and formula (combo fed) we never went the milk route. She was sensitive to dairy and had already tried 114 foods before one and loves food. She gets enough vitamins and minerals from eating whole foods. I think it’s whatever you prefer, if you don’t feel like your LO is getting enough from the foods use the milk as a vitamin source but not a replacement.
