Breastfeeding mamas

My baby will not nap for more than 5/10 minutes unless he’s on me. At night I get him to sleep breastfeeding and he’s waking up on average 4 times a night for a feed/comfort. Any advice on how to help him nap without me and less comfort feeds at night would be GREATLY appreciated. From a confused and tired ma🤍

What's his age?

I think you need to start with the naps. Where is he sleeping when he only sleeps for 5/10 minutes? What is he doing when he wakes up after this time? What are you doing to put him to sleep?

7 months old I’ve tried him in his cot where he sleeps at night or in his pram downstairs with me. Both with white noise, silence, background noise from the television, music. I try and do one thing consistently for around 2 weeks straight to see if he gets used to it before I try something else. It’s been a struggle since about 3 months

When he wakes up he just rolls over and spins around and whinges until I pick him up. I feed him to sleep mostly, but for one nap a day he goes to sleep if I just sit next to him and tap his bum or him or something similar

I’m guessing you want him to nap in his cot? So aim for that. Could you try a baby mobile or light protector? What happens if you just left him after he wakes up after 10 minutes? If he’s content or just fussing a bit, could you just leave him until he nods back off again?

Sounds like its time to try sleep training I'd try the ferber method no crying it out too long
