Baby not 💩’in!!

My nephew is 2 months old. Since day one he has not been able to poop regularly and sometimes goes THIRTEEN DAYS without going. BF and formula fed. Switched formulas and still no change. Anyone have experience with this? What has worked for you to help baby’s bowels? I’m so scared baby will go septic!! Help!!!

Our doctor recommended a small amount of water (no more than 2oz a day) to clear up our son's chronic constipation. DISCLAIMER: he was 4.5 months old so idk about with a baby that little. I'd definitely call the pediatrician and see what they recommend.

Our doctor told us to give milk of magnesia. Online it says 2mo of age is okay but certainly check with your child’s doctor first. We still give it to our almost 2yo and it clears him out pretty quick. Good luck!

Is he straining? Has he been checked by a doctor? My baby had dyschezia, which made her struggle with going and straining for ages. It was so so hard for all of us but it went away on its own..she just needed to learn which muscles to strain and which to relax to poop. We did loads of baby massages and variations of bicycle legs which helped her go. Frida has these little things which are to help release gas and I've heard they can help babies poop but we never used them because we also saw that if used incorrectly they can be dangerous + they can delay the learning process. But many people do swear by them while they experienced this issue.

Our doctor said it’s normal for some BF babies to go up to 14 days without pooping. I’d ask the pediatrician what they recommend.

I think the baby’s doctor was pretty nanchalant about it as well. That doesn’t set right with me…13 days is way too long. It’s time for a second opinion with another pediatrician
