Naps

Sometimes my baby’s first nap he will sleep for 3 hours. I never know if that’s to much. I sometimes work from home and been taking advantage of his long naps but then idk if that’s to long. He use to wake up at 7 then take a 2 hour nap at 9. Wake up on his own. But now he’s been waking up at 8 and will either take a nap at 10 or 11. When he hits the 3 hour mark I wake him up. Anyone else?

There's a few factors here. What time does he go to bed at night? And how long is his other naps later in the day? 3 hours alone is not "too long"

I don’t know is there a too much. Babies sleep as much as they need. There’s a such thing as not enough sleep. But they are growing, their bodies are changing, their teething they’re learning and developing their brains, it’s tiring sometimes.

@Natha he will go to bed around 8..830 and he wakes up a lot until about midnight and then sleep from midnight-8 and then he will nap at like 4 for about half an hour-45 min. He was doing 2 naps for 2 hours

So the recommended amount of sleep is about 14h. If he's sleeping 10ish at night then 1 3h nap and 1 hour nap sounds about good!

That’s normal! My baby will alternate taking 2 naps a day and 1 nap a day. If she takes 2 naps it’ll last about 1-2 hours each. If she takes 1 nap it’ll last 3 hours. They’ll take longer naps when they drop to 1.

@Naomi thanks good to know. I was thinking of letting him do his one long nap and drop nap #2 and just go to bed a little earlier. That’s if he keeps napping like this
