Car Seat

Has anyone changed their babies car seat yet? My little on is still in the carseat that came with his pushchair and I'm wondering I'd because it's reclined if that's why he's getting crabby during journeys as when we're at home he prefers to be sat. I know he needs to still be in a rear facing seat, I'm just wondering whose changed. I'm looking into the 360 ones as he's becoming to heavy for me to lean in or put him in it and then into the car

He doesn’t need to be rear but some will argue and tell you it’s safer. It’s your choice, if you go on the gov website it tells you it depends on the chair and the chair depends on his weight. My son is 9kg, and he’s now in a front facing seat. And he prefers being sat upright also. He went into his new chair this last week

I’ve put my youngest in his next seat (he’s been in it a good few weeks now) he’s got a 36kg ERF seat, but not a 360- they just aren’t usually great for bigger centile babies. That said, my eldest is in a joie 360 ispin and rear facing in it, he’s 3 but tiny, and it should last him until he’s safe to be in a high backed booster. And there’s no arguing about it- rear facing categorically is safer.

Honestly I can put him in the carseat no problem but the minute we set off he doesn't just cry, he screams. Thank you, I'll do some more research with my partner!

@Chloe which one did you go for?

@CeeCee Got the Britax max safe pro- so far really happy!

Recently bought the maxi cosi emerald and it should last until around 12 years old but it was so hard trying to find one suitable for us but this still has 360 which I liked x

We got the avionaut sky which is an ERF seat, it’s not 360 but don’t have any issue getting him in, it’s pretty accessible as it is. He’s been in it for months already and very happy in it. We did a lot of driving in September and he mostly slept, when awake he’d look out the window or laugh with his sister. When he was younger he didn’t like the car generally though as he was away from me - you could try moving your current seat to the front and see if that helps in the short term?

We went for rear facing and got an axkid swedish car seat. It'll see my little boy through to age 5/6 when he can then go into high back booster. There's no question for us to keep him rear facing as long as possible. We were advised by a really good independent pushchairs and car seat company who we felt really gave us good and honest guidance

We went for the silver cross motion 360 - love it x
