read with him near his bed, once ready (sleepy) give him him bottle of water and blanket but include yourself in those items somehow , make him laugh and feel comfortable then turn light off , lay with him and rub his back til he’s asleep then leave once he rolls over and is noticeably asleep . no tv and hour before bed , make sure he’s active and tired out
We baby proofed my daughter’s room so that if she would get up and play without us in the room, she wouldn’t be able to get hurt in anyway. So for bedtime we just lay her on her bed with her water cup, baby doll, blanket and a book and we turn her sound machine on and baby Einstein ocean thing on and we kiss her and tell her goodnight and we leave the room. I don’t wait until she’s sleeping to leave. She might take awhile to fall asleep but we leave her be. We can watch her through the baby monitor.
Following bc we are about to make the transition ourselves. We have been trying to do naps in the toddler bed but my daughter isn't having it. I put her comforter in the crib with her to get used to it and that's as far as I've gotten. My son needs the crib in December
