Naps

Has anyone else’s toddler stopped napping? I know 20 months is supposedly too early to stop but my son has been fighting his one nap for the past 3 weeks, he hates it and I don’t blame him, he never seems tired. We’ve tried pushing his nap back, waking up earlier but he just seems completely over it. He hasn’t napped at nursery for around a month and it doesn’t really impact his mood. He’s speech is pretty advanced (speaks in short sentences) and I know more advanced children regularly have lower sleep needs but I think I’m just looking for other people to say they have also dropped the daytime nap for some reassurance that this can be normal. Ps. I’m dreading not having the break in the day!

Yes, my son hasn’t napped either in a few weeks.. not even at nursery either. He’s absolutely fine in the day, and sleeps well at night so I am not concerned. You will have people saying “oh that’s too young” but I actually know a few people with children similar age who don’t need a nap either or just a quick 30 minute one :)

If he isn’t tired he doesn’t need to nap - all children are different x

Mine is only doing 20 min naps at the min and I’m pretty sure he will start to completely cut out soon!
