Tips to stop milk supply

Hi, No judgement please but due to my mental health and other reasons I’ve had to stop breastfeeding. I’m trying to gradually stop pumping and dropping a pump every few days and pumping for less but I’m soooo engorged and sore and red. I’ve just stood and milked myself like a cow into a sink in a community centre disabled toilet to ease some pain. The Dr’s have said it’ll sort itself out and they don’t prescribe anything anymore but does anyone have any tips, tricks or hacks to help ease the process?

Cabbage leafs on your breast will help. When I tried to stop with my son it worked quickly

As @Rachel said apparently cabbage leaves work, plus mint tea and sage are supposed to reduce supply!

Cold packs and/or cold cabbage leaves in your bra. Take ibuprofen to help with the pain and inflammation caused by engorgement. I haven’t tried this myself but I’ve seen it recommended: decongestants are said to reduce milk flow so you could try taking something like Sudafed (tablets, not spray) - anything that contains pseudophedrine basically as research shows it to significantly reduce milk production, you’re advised not to take it while breastfeeding for that reason. However, if you still want to use the milk you produce to feed your baby, you might want to avoid taking it, as there isn’t a lot of research on effects once in the milk. It would be fine for baths though, or if you’re stopping completely then that doesn’t matter! Good luck ♥️

Sudafed and cold cabbage leaves!
