Pelvic girdle pain Hello. I’m 29 weeks + 2

Anyone else getting pelvic girdle pain. Mine is so bad I’m struggling to walk. Thinking of getting crutches to help me move about. Already got the pelvic support belt. Has anyone else tried anything that’s worked.

My midwife recommended a local physio that specialised in pregnancy and post birth physiotherapy (sadly due to COVID I would have been on the NHS waiting list longer than I had left of my pregnancy). I had online sessions with her once or twice a week, working with exercise bands mostly to work the supporting muscles and this helped massively. I was struggling to walk, sit or sleep with the pain but all of that went away

Warm bath and hot water bottle have helped me massively I am 35 weeks pregnant

I've trying everything but nothing worked. Started at 28 weeks and lasted the rest of the pregnancy. It disappeared though soon after birth. Now from time to time the pain returns on some occasions like pushing heavy things (not as strong as it was during pregnancy) but yeah, it will pass. I was scared it would have stayed this way even after birth but it didn't fortunately but I totally feel you.

I'm on crutches for mine now (30 weeks) - I just physically cannot walk properly, I'm in absolute agony. Even through the night I can't sleep because I'm so sore and uncomfortable. I was referred to physio and went but because my job involves lots of standing up and sitting down, they said a belt wouldn't work as they can only be used standing up, but gave me a tubagrip which tbh, has done absolutely nothing to help. I tried the exercises the physio recommended, but didn't see any improvement at all - if anything, it got worse. The crutches take the weight off a bit so they do help, but my heartburn has got 10x worse since starting them - I think it's because I lean over ever so slightly. I had this with my other 2 pregnancies too, although my middle one was much worse - had been on crutches for a month at this point and had been off sick for just under a month. I have an awful feeling I'm going to end up having to get a sickline again which I really wanted to avoid doing 😩 Counting down the days! x

Find a chiropractor who is Webster trained and definitely recommend an SI belt. You want a belt that is rigid and not with elastic in it as it doesn’t give enough support. You wear it over your front hip bones https://amzn.eu/d/2RP6AGx

The pelvic girdle pain starter for me at around 18-20 weeks, even though I didn’t yet even have a bump! Has been horrendous, and only things that have eased it are sitting on a birthing ball, warm baths/ hot water bottles. Pregnancy pillow with additional pillows is an absolute must, otherwise it’s torturous. I got referred for physio when the pain started, but I’m due baby in 5 days and still yet to hear from physio 💔 Resting as much as possible is also essential. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes a bit smoother

A shower stool/chair, get your groceries delivered, gentle exercices, take it easy. Do keep moving as much as you can, though, to prevent blood clots..
