@Freya mine says a good amount of words and recognises items / tasks that he’s being asked to do but no sentences yet! I’m not overly worried as he is speaking and saying lots of words just not sure what’s classed as “normal” as this age as he’s our first x
Lost count my daughter is also talking in sentences x
We've only had 15 total but he only says about 5 regularly. However, he fully understands what's being asked of him and recognises everything. X
@Nadine we’re probably similar I’d say he can say 20 words and says most of them everyday. He also looks at some animals and makes the noises they make! I’m not too worried it’s just hard to tell what they should be saying if sentences etc. should be coming or if it’s still early x
They do say on average at 18 months they should be saying 20-50 words. But thats on average some are clearly chattier some are clearly not. Xx
Yeah my little one makes animal noises too, especially cows 😅 they all develop at their own pace really, I'm not worried as he's way ahead in other areas of development but I have heard that girls tend to pick up words a lot quicker and easier than boys and this seems to be the case with my little boys friends his age, all the girls are almost talking in sentences whereas the boys are at a similar stage to my son x
@Nadine thank you that’s really reassuring! I have heard boys can be slower than girls at talking but more advanced in other areas and I’ve definitely got no concerns about him so I think I’m just being a worrier 🤣xx
About 50 for my girl but no sentences yet, also not putting two words together yet.
Hardly any 😩 he knows what we are saying, follows instructions very well and knows what things are and points to it when we say. feel like everyone’s speaking a lot more than him but I worried about him not waking straight away and now he’s running around everywhere
I stopped counting at 70 words and she flown past that now it boggles my brain and she amazes me daily at what she can say. She has started to put some words together too. Language has been her thing she said muma at 5 months old and Dada in quick consession
Hundreds, and has recently started to speak in sentences. I know some his age that are the same, and some that don’t speak at all! Varies hugely at this age
