Bedtime moving earlier?

My 11 week old baby always went to bed somewhere between 9pm-11pm depending on the timing of her last bottle (formula fed). Now she seems to pass out into a deep sleep around 7.30pm-8pm on my lap in the living room for the past week or so. So far I’ve been waking her at 9.30/10pm for her last bottle then putting her to bed properly. She’s quite fussy in the evenings and i wonder if I should be putting her to bed earlier now? I’m worried about her missing her last bottle though and changing up the routine suddenly. Any advice/similar experiences much appreciated!

Our baby is nearly 12 weeks and is seemingly ready to go to bed now 7:30-8 - if we try and keep him up he just gets even fussier. He still sleeps a 5-6 hour stretch with the earlier bedtime

We just start last feed around 7-7:15

Do they normally sleep until morning after than 10pm bottle? If not, id try skipping the 10pm, there’s a good chance they’ll still just do their normal sleep. Babies get their best stretch of sleep typically from 7/8 until they wake. I’d let baby steer for a few days and see what changes, you can always go back. I have a 9 week old and we’ve never got a routine yet as we have a 3yr old but he typically gets to sleep anywhere from 7-9pm depending on when he last woke and he wakes once between then and morning between 2-4am. We tried a later feed before we went to sleep once thinking it would help him go to morning and he still woke at the same time (3am) for a feed.

It’s likely their body clock has got day time night time figured out and is craving that 12hour ‘night’ time.

Thanks @Rebecca ! My baby typically wakes up around 3am for another feed. She usually goes back to sleep for a few more hours after 3am but can be quite restless. Thanks for your advice I’ll try putting her to bed properly earlier and see what happens!

@Harriet seems very similar to- I’ll try and earlier bedtime. She will nap away on my lap while I watch tv from 8pm but I just wonder if it’s better for her to be put in her bassinet in the dark … proper bedtime. Thanks!

I think babies bedtime moves earlier as they get older. So 3 months might be time to move it to 7:30/8, although I know many people do that and still continue to wake babe at 10-11 for feed.

I have a 8 week old who was gagging for a earlier bedtime, we put him to bed at 7 now and he can sleep till 12/1 until his feed, we don’t wake him for a feed though we wait till he starts showing signs he’s ready for a feed. He will then sleep till 5/6, you could try an earlier bedtime and see what your little one does! Each baby is so different xx
