Am I a bad mum

That I absolutely loathe getting my son ready for nursery in the mornings, they’re just so stressful, hates brushing his teeth, absolutely restless when dressing him up, we’ve probably had a long night the night before because he’s a bad sleeper. I really just don’t enjoy it, it really stresses me out. How do I ground myself, because even when I do, the stress of it, overrides whatever techniques I’m trying to do to calm myself down.

If you’re a bad mum then same 🤣 I hate changing my sons bum because he does an alligator death roll every time, hate getting him dressed and into his pjs too because the tantrum just isn’t fun. It sucks that things that need to be done are so hard because it’s not like we can avoid doing them. I basically just shut down and try to ignore his cries now so I can get it done as quickly as possible, I tried to make it fun and it didn’t work so we just speed run now and do something fun after, after I’ve had a moment to breathe lmao

@Chloe 😂😭 this made me laugh but yes it’s so hard, and we can’t avoid doing them

Nah, you're not. We all have aspects of parenting that we don't like. Mine is bath time/washing her hair. She spends the time trying to escape from the bath & with hair washing, she takes off the visor that's meant to keep water out of her face & then I'm struggling to wash her hair cuz of it🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️😂

Have u tried supplements like magnesium or omega3? It could be the missing piece that helps everyone stay calm and collected

Nope not a bad mom, I loathe bed times and the repeated putting back to bed. Drives me nuts! My son goes to daycare and maybe I’m a bad mom but we don’t brush hair, I put him to bed in his school clothes and often don’t do the tooth brush. Dentist isn’t concerned with the morning brush yet, only night. my kid and I have great mornings and I often have enough time to make sausage and eggs for his school breakfast.

Wanted to add that my son doesn’t look unkept at school, just yesterday the teachers were complementing his clothes. There is a way to do and not look like a couch bum ☺️

Same girl. My baby is tiring & cries for absolutely everything. Changing him is a battle. I dread it. I just put him in a headlock on his belly because I can’t be asked

Send him to bed in the same clothes he will wear to nursery. One less battle
