Bangs to head falling over by accident

I’m still so petrified when my little one hits her head. She’s just tried to climb the sofa. She can’t as she’s not tall enough so always needs help up. She put her leg up to try herself and lost balance then falling sideways and then banged her head on the floor. She instantly cried and I got her and cuddled her. She seems ok now but I’m still petrified that she’s like damaging her skull or something

Yeah I was the same! My girl decided to jump off my bed, I took her to a and e but she was fine xx

@Naomi ohh bless her. Did she hit her head. What did they say to you x

Their skulls are harder than you think by 1yr old. My boy is forever bashing his head on stuff. Our rule of thumb is that if he cries instantly and there is no swelling then he is fine. If an 'egg' starts to form we call 111 or go to A&E and if there is blood (more than a scratch) then its off to A&E. Thankfully not had any eggs or blood yet but given how accidebt prone I was as a child its just a matter of time.

@Trudie yes she grazed her forehead I felt so bad!! They said she was fine just monitor them for signs of concussion etc!c

If brains were damaged by minor falls the human race would have died out pretty sharpish. Try not to worry too much our heads are pretty hard! Have a look at this there's all sorts of good advice https://www.what0-18.nhs.uk/parentscarers/worried-your-child-unwell/head-injury
