Sugar!

What’s your take on sugar intake in the form of sweets/chocolate/puddings/biscuits? Our LO has had 1 bite of birthday cake 3 times - aside from that he hasn’t had anything else sugary, my partner wants to put some chocolate buttons in a Christmas Eve box but I’m still 😬😬😬 I don’t know if I’m being overly cautious or not

my son has a little bit of my treats if i have any 😅 i don’t have the strength to fight about a little biscuit with my tea in the morning. i think it’s fine

I brought my LO a bag of buttons a week ago, I ate some, she had about 2 but wasn't fussed so they are back in the cupboard. A little now and again isn't too bad x

It’s still recommended to limit added sugar as much as possible, it’s not good for their teeth and I know my son doesn’t need any more energy! I don’t think it’s necessary at this age, esp when they can’t ask for it

@Charlotte yeah that’s the way I’ve always looked at it!

My little boy had chocolate cake on his birthday and that’s it 😂 they do homemade puddings at his nursery but they aren’t chocolate based. However at Christmas I will buy him in advent calendar. I try and limit it as much as possible but equally a little here and there at Christmas isnt the end of the world

My daughter has tried cake and chocolate. She doesn't actually like it so we don't bother trying her with it anymore 🤣 when she's older and can ask that's different x

We are VERY strict with sugar, we won't even allow him Weetabix because it has sugar.

@Joana can I ask, what does a general day of eating look like for him?
