Regression - how long does it last?

So my lo was born 31st Jan so 9 months next week. And he's never been the best sleeper (wakes a 2/3 times a night to breastfeed) but the last few days have been horrendous. Wake ups pretty much every hour, super distressed. Hysterical kind of crying. It's so hard. It's so hard to be nurturing and lovely when you've had basically no sleep and you're on your 5th wake up before like 1am. Anyway seeing as my bub is likely the youngest of this group I was hoping someone may be able to tell me things get better ?! How long can I expect these kinds of relentless nights to last? I've also been checking his temperature and keeping an eye on him in case he's in pain. He has already got 8 teeth fully through (they came very early) with no signs of more just yet. So I'm pretty confident it's nothing else. Any advice / stories would be appreciated xx

Mine was born on the 29th! He usually wakes up every 2hrs to feed at night, about a week ago he was waking up every hr, but he is still occasionally waking up crying hysterically. He has also just recently had his first tooth pop through. Is he crawling, pulling to stand etc yet? The worst week we had was when he started actively crawling. We think he is still going through the regression as getting him to nap is a real challenge sometimes but it is no way as bad as the 4 month regression or maybe we are used to not sleeping much anymore 😂

Thanks for replying @Clara And sorry yeh I should have said. He can crawl and pull himself up to stand and he sits and rolls and stuff. He feels pretty mobile. He's not totally stable when he's standing but he's getting there. I'm glad to hear that it's passing for you. I'm hoping we're at the peak of it and it calms down after a few days (rather than weeks 🙏🏼😴🤞🏼🫠) as this is so so hard to navigate.

My little boy is 9 months tomorrow and he's been like this for weeks. Not just a cry, he screams aswell. I ended up buying a Tommee Tippee Dreammaker so I set the red light to pulse to the noise and that seems to help keep him asleep for longer. Last night he went sleep at 8.30 and woke at 2.10. It took him a while to go back off but then he slept through until 7.15. For me this has been the worst regression, but I'm now hoping we're coming out the other side. I'm just now worried about the clocks changing next weekend 🤦‍♀️

Mines the same also born end of Jan, she wakes up hourly.. for no particular reason lol.

We had 6 weeks of hell along with teething and then it finally started getting better again!

My baby was born 2nd Jan, so probably one of the oldest and I’m so sad to say it’s still ongoing. It’s been months now and I feel like it’s never going to end 🥺 she used to sleep great, never really felt any regressions at the other stages but this is brutal 😭

About 6-7 weeks and still the odd day of hourly wake up (last night!) but slowly she seems to be levelling out. Born end of Jan as well

Thanks for all the replies ladies! ☺️ So it turns out my little one has hand, foot and mouth. Which is why he's been quite so restless lately. Obviously regressions can still creep up whenever. But yeh sending nothing but hope that things pass nice and quickly for you and your little ones! 🙏🏼Xx
