Please help me!

Hey mommas, I want to remain anonymous cause I feel to embarrassed to be my actual name, i have failed with my milk production, I am exclusively pumping I have went from 150ml to now 1ml each pump. I don’t have any money to get lactation supplements I don’t know what to do. I have been so stressed, overstimulated, I’m very limited on anything to get a supplements or anything that helps. If anyone has any that they don’t use anymore or maybe someone can buy them for me? A momma is struggling and I have already went to a lactation consultant and they give me a list of things to try supplements wise but I can’t get them due to not having money.

Is there a way you can try to get your baby to latch again? Even at night or whenever you’re home from work? Maybe that will increase it. Pumping more frequently than you have, massage your breasts, pump after a hot shower, drink lots of fluids. I wish I had a specific right answer I’m just saying everything I was told and would try to increase milk supply.

I have tried to latch again, I’m just not producing enough, I’m pumping 8x a day, and 15-20mins at a time

Yeah seems like you’re trying to do what you can. Then I’d be looking at my pump to make sure there wasn’t anything wrong with it. Sometimes pumps need new tubing, accessories, etc. or just don’t work as good as they did when they were brand new.

I pump 30 minutes every time, including after a feeding to empty myself out and have some extra milk in the freezer. I also eat 2 bags of oatmeal in the morning as anything with oats, chia seeds and those types really help with boosting supply without it being as expensive as lactation cookies and all. you could also look into making those homemade!

Momma on a tight budget here! You can always make your own lactation cookies! I made some dark chocolate oatmeal cookies with flax seed and brewers yeast. It helped for a while, had to fight off my son’s father from eating them 😅 as brewers yeast is a good bulking agent for athletic trainers

Drink lots of water

Idk if you can get on food stamps but they cover body armor, protein shakes, coconut water, and protein granola bars

About 10 to 15 minutes before you pump put some heat on your breasts. Take a warm shower or microwave a towel for 30 seconds or so. Oxytocin is the hormone that helps with milk letdown. You can trigger your body into making this hormone while you pump with looking at a picture of your child or holding them. If you often pump away from your baby look at a picture of your baby or think of good memories about them. Also pump at night at least once between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. as that is a good time to get a lot of milk.

I agree with the previous comments but I would like to add that when we are overwhelmed we don’t produce as much. I thinking if you can laugh and unplug it could potentially help. My milk was going away but I didn’t realize that I was depressed. I was literally doing everything for everybody and forgot about myself. I know it’s hard but dress up and get back into a hobby that made you happy. I would also recommend putting fruits in you water to help with hydration

@Andrea this!! I had a portable pump the first time around and it was killing my supply. Make sure you’re using a strong pump with the proper flange size (pumpables has a free printable size chart to measure this). ALSO, do skin to skin as OFTEN as you can! Having baby nearby/touching you helps your body’s prolactin production better than any oral supplement. Kellymom.com is a great resource for lactation/pumping.

@Catherine same I had the portable momcozy at first because of all the great reviews. It just did not work with me so I went old school and got the lansinoh pump. Very good advice about the skin to skin as well.

They say oatmeal helps produce breast milk. Maybe have overnight oats in the fridge and eat it every morning. Can you switch to strictly breastfeed without pumping? It sounds like you're stressed out and maybe you need to step away from pumping for a bit and just do exclusively breastfeeding through the breast. ? See how the baby takes it.

Try power pumping - five minutes on, five minutes off for 30 minutes. Check to make sure you have the correct flange size on your pump.

Are you in the US? I do have some By heart formula I can I send you. Please DM me if you are interested.

@Dhinorah would you mind sharing the recipe? Those sound amazing!🫶🏼
