Sleep Help SOS

I am miserable, 6.5 months in and still getting only 4-5 hours of total broken sleep. Baby had CMPA, soy sensitivity, and several oral ties , all have improved with age so baby is no longer experiencing the same pain. Baby slept in our arms 24-7 for the first three weeks; until we started bed sharing. It “worked” when babe’s bed time was 10pm. Now bedtime is 7pm. I cannot fall asleep along with babe at 7, it is way too early for me and usually results in me waking at 4am or staying awake in bed until 10-11. We have had random nights where there are 4 hour complete stretches with no wakes to feed. Wake up 6:30-7am bed time 7-8pm. Wake windows are 2.25- 2.5 hrs long. Nap lengths vary 30-60 minutes. Nap and bed time routine are similar, bed time includes bath (every night.) Room darkening curtains and sound machine. I do not feed to sleep unless it is after the first night wake. Nights like tonight, babe goes to sleep for 15-20 minutes in the crib after fussing to sleep then wakes up miserable, inconsolable, writhing in the crib. The head scratcher: naps are completely 100% independent and rarely result in tears. Takes 2-3 minutes to be completely asleep. I don’t know where to start to fix this, and sleep courses seem expensive ($200??) I’ve nailed down a solid nap routine for the last two weeks yet each night babe ends up in bed with me.

Have you tried a later bedtime? My little guy still wakes up multiple times a night, but I've noticed that he wakes up the least when he goes to sleep at 9 pm. Is 4 am your baby's wake-up time?!

@Lizeth I just edited my post, it’s between 6:30 and 7am for wake up

Try a sleep sack for naps and at night. My baby used to be the same now she does a sleep stretch . From my nighttime routine from Miami, I gave her a bath at a decent time. I give her some gripe water that helps her settle down. She is always fussy after 6pm.Then I also only give her liquid formula for bed only to keep her from being gassy .She goes to bed at 10 :30 wakes up for a bottle at 5am sometimes 7 AM if she skipped a nap during the day.then she back to sleep until 9am or 10. I co-sleep with my baby she makes to much noise in her pack and play. She is more wiggly in in she slams her feet back and forth on it all night while she is sleeping.i can’t sleep like that it will get better when she turns one I rather to go through keeping my baby’s in my bed until 1 or two. Then going through sleepless nights that’s when Postpartum comes knocking

is there a reason baby needs to go to sleep earlier if the later bedtime is working?

Sounds like your baby is going through a sleep regression and the 6 month growth spurt. All totally normal and to be expected

@Beth The later bed time was during newborn to about 4.5 months. It naturally came earlier. Babe won’t take longer naps or take a 4th nap.

@Megan This has been going on for a while, babe has never slept at night alone. Always some form of crying, it’s just now intensifying around the 6mo.

Then I would say baby either has colic or is just going through P.U.R.P.L.E. Crying. Or you may need to ask your baby’s pediatrician for a solution if the CMPA, soy sensitive has gone away https://dontshake.org/purple-crying
