Bad hospital experience help

So obviously it’s been over a year since my son was born but I am still so so angry with both my delivery experience and even more angry about an experience at the same hospital before my son was born and I really want ….justice? I guess? Some repercussions or atleast I want to somehow prevent this from happening to anyone else and I don’t know what I can do about it. So I went into the hospital a few days before my son was born when I started having contractions, this very very old man doctor saw me and was only meant to give me a check to see if I was dilated. He absolutely 100% gave me a membrane sweep without my consent. I was shocked, still am, and didn’t say anything about it but it obviously started my labor and also just left me feeling totally violated beyond belief. I’m no stranger to sexual trauma, I don’t know if that makes it worse or better because on one hand I am numb when it comes to being uncomfortable like that, but on the other hand it’s clearly still haunting me and probably always will. My boyfriend was there and even he noticed that that was no regular “check” I mean he could visibly see the difference between all my other checks and this particular one, and me being the one that went through it I immediately knew that it wasn’t right. It felt like he scrambled my insides. I think this man thought he was helping me out but I don’t care, I am a super natural person and I wanted my labor to go as naturally as possible, and also not a fan of things being done to me or my uterus without consent. There’s probably nothing I can do but if anyone has advice or thoughts I am all ears. Feels really nice posting about it atleast. Sorry it’s so long but if you read this thank you for hearing me🫶🏼

I wonder if this has happened to other patients by this doctor. I also wonder if they could tell that a membrane sweep has happened when they did checks when you were in the labor and delivery room

This makes me so angry just to hear about. 😡

Dude…..WTF. Completely unnecessary and not to mention illegal. I’m not really sure where it would get you in a court room considering how our government views reproductive health in general but god am I glad I had a midwife! They asked me for my consent so many times it was a little ridiculous. I am so sorry that this happened to you, the injustice is undeniable.

Yeah complain and write honest reviews about it, write a well written letter to the hospital board. Try to help others for sure.
