First things first, you can’t go back in time so whatever you were giving your baby, they will be ok, you’re a great mom, it’s ok. Second, yes, they’ve finally admitted they know fluoride is a neurotoxin and lowers IQ. Heartbreaking that it’s been pushed so hard for so long but thankfully the truth is coming out. Once your baby is a toddler, you could do some detox program to help flush fluoride (Medical Medium is a great resource). Sending love mama, it’s a wild world out there but we’re all doing our best!
Stop fluoride now
It’s a highly toxic substance that is not ‘good for our teeth’. Please I urge you to do more research on what fluoride does to the brain and body. I avoid it even as an adult. I would avoid it for the whole family. You can detox it from your baby. Also avoid tap water. I can’t believe doctors knowingly poison babies. I’m flabbergasted that the American system is so toxic!
Do you have well water? Curious why this even came up as a conversation in the first place. What toothpaste is everyone using? We have a xylitol based one but always open to suggestions!
@Jaz do you also avoid foods with flouride? Like coffee, white wine, grapes/raisins, seafood, russet potatoes, so on?
FYI Texas just banned fluoride in their water.
@Anne The city that I live in doesn't add fluoride to the water. Every doctor and dentist we see in the area tells us to use fluoride in one way or another.
@Magda win for Texas
@Anne more or less. I’m not perfect but I do occasionally wine. Still drink coffee. Just try to limit as much as possible xx
I don't and won't use fluoride tooth paste for anyone in our family. I use a baking soda toothpaste.
Just asked our dentist about this during our last visit because my husband heard it from his boss and the dentist said that fluoride isn't available OTC in Canada anymore. (We just migrated here so we're not familiar with this practice) She said that it was available before and now only the older generations know about it. Children were prone to overdose. She said you can get the same benefit from fluoride toothpaste. You don't need a lot. Just a dab, not even pea size. When they showed us how much to put they literally brushed the tube ever so lightly and even wiped the excess onto a paper towel.
And someone from England I am baffled by this. Fluoride is in a LOT of things that you wouldn't even think of. Brushed my teeth all my life with it and I don't have a low IQ🤣 So weird
A couple years ago I did research on fluoride and found out the same things you did. I started using this toothpaste and it stopped my gum bleeding https://www.target.com/p/hello-antiplaque-and-whitening-fluoride-free-sls-free-and-vegan-toothpaste-4-7oz-2pk/-/A-80160297
@Kiah just maybe try looking up what fluoride actually is, and read why it’s in products (I’ll give you a hint ‘it’s not to make your teeth stronger’)

@Jaz I have and never said it did 🤣
I thiiiiink it's because there is a lack of consensus in the academic community about flouride, and potential harmful effects vs. benefits. I know here in Canada, the use of flouride toothpaste is determined by your child's risk of tooth decay under 3 years of age. Generally dentists here advise switching to flouride toothpaste when babies are old enough to spit. I get how frustrating it is, though. You try to do the right thing, follow reputable sources, and unfortunately scientists don't always agree on things.
