Giving up the dummy already??

I can’t remember when my 6 year old gave up the dummy. Maybe 2-3, I remember a dummy fairy book and replacing the dummy with a gift though so a lot older than my 14 month old. 14 month old is driving me mad with her awful habit of throwing the dummy and thinking it’s funny at bed time though so I’m debating giving it up a lot sooner this time around. Has anyone given up the dummy already? Any tips if you have ?

I seen something before about someone pretended to “plant the dummy in the garden” and replaced it with a store bought flower with some treats around it from the dummy fairy x

I did it at 8-9 months

The dog had bit it in the night and i was at my mums house with no spares so thought to just quit it there

I took dummy away at 13 months and have a few rocky nights first 2/3 night but after that was fine, I just completely got rid xx

I just don’t think she’s old enough to understand the tricks I used with 6 year old. I may attempt it next week when my 6 year old is home for half term. I’m off sick after a thyroid operation until the 3rd November too so at least I won’t have to worry about being exhausted for school/work if we have a hard time. We gave up breastfeeding at 12 months a lot easier than I thought so hopefully giving up the dummy won’t be so bad

I went cold turkey when my bub was 7 month old.
