How often should I feel baby move?

I am 31 weeks pregnant and I don’t feel my baby move a lot. There’s other people who experience not being able to go to sleep because of how much their baby moves and I don’t experience that at all? I’ll feel him sometimes in the morning if I’m laying on my side or if I push down on my stomach enough he’ll kick back. I also feel the weight of him but if I feel any movement it’ll be very slight. Is this something to be concerned about?? When I go to the doctor his heartbeat is around 140-150 and he’s currently 4 lbs

Try eating something sweet! That’s what helped me feel mine while pregnant.

@Ajalai will do! Thank you🩷

Movement also depends on location of placenta. For example, anterior placenta may not feel kicks as strongly as a posterior placenta.

You should feel 10 movements within 2 hours is what my doctor said. My son was a lazy baby and I'd only really feel him in the morning and evening. My daughter was wild and I felt her constantly 😂

My firstborn never moved much. It was just generally his pattern to not be an active baby. Like you I’d have to lay on my side/ wiggle my belly around to get kicks. I’d be in triage all the time worrying about his movements but every time he was fine. He’s now 17 months old, perfectly healthy, and has slept through the night since day one 😉 every baby is different. Don’t compare to others, just learn your baby’s own pattern and call triage whenever you’re concerned. It’s what they are there for!

Please talk to OB about counting kicks & what’s considered normal/ abnormal

@Becca thank you!!

Some babies do move more than others...I never had a pattern with mine but I also got told not to count kicks as every baby is different. If your babies 'pattern' feels different then you can always call triage

10 movements in 2 hrs. My baby has IUGR tho, and i only feel her maybe 10 times a DAY on a good day. Each baby is different. Also depends on their position etc
