Bedtime

My little one has started pointing under her bed as though there’s something there (there isn’t). Some nights she wakes up a few times shouting as she thinks there’s something under her bed, anyone experienced this? Is it a normal phase?

Does she have older siblings/cousins or anyone who might have watched something like Monsters Inc with her? Or similar? X

No she doesn’t have any siblings and the only thing I can think of is a cocomelon episode but that was quite a while ago - you reckon it could be that? :)

I know it's def a common thing as so many kiddies are scared of bed/under bed/cupboards. Does she have a night light? Also... do you have a cat? I remember my cat hiding under the bed and hearing noises and it scared me 😅.

My daughter is going through the “monster phase” and insists there’s monsters outside her window so I have to pull the curtains and show her. Any noise she hears it’s a monster and it all came from when we had thunder and it freaked her out. I just assure her and show her to prove there’s nothing and she’s safe 🫠🫶🏻

@Emma I do but he never goes in her room haha, yeah she does have a night light 😂 the cat has scared me too making noises as well! Haha

@Emma oooo thank you! I’ll have a look for this! And give it a go :)

@Sarah that’s what I’ve been doing too! ☺️ We did have the really strong wind the other day so it might even be that thinking about it! Thank you

I recently read something about it & it's very common. It advised that giving them invisible magic anti monster spray is more effective at soothing them than showing them there's nothing there.

At this age their imagination is growing, everything they watch stays with them in some way but sometimes their imagination just creates random things. Atm my son keeps saying hide from the tiger. I’m sure there are books about monsters and can ensure her monsters are just pretend xx
