I’m down to 5-6 times for 15-20 mins within a 24 hours span but my baby is 6 months. When I first started I did my best to pump every 3 hours for 15-25 mins. It was hard but I’m happy I was able to stick to it!
6x a day, baby is 5 months
Depends on your goals or needs. I personally pumped once a day till maybe about 6months then I stopped. Only pumped here and there. But if you’re building a stash for going back to work, 3-4 times a day is what’s recommended.
Baby is 15 weeks old. I pump twice a day for 40 mins, 20 mins per breast and that gives me 2 , 120ml bottles a day. I do it when I wake up and before I go to bed. With both babies I tried different timings and this is just what works for me. She’s mainly directly BF but has a bottle of expressed milk before bed, she just sleeps longer with it and it gives me freedom in the day should I wish to go out with my 3 year old or by myself and her dad has her.
It depends. Are you trying to build a stash and also putting baby to latch on demand? Some people pump 1 hour after nursing, some pump when baby is going to take a longer nap, before they themselves go to sleep, or very early in the morning before baby wakes up. Either way it’s important to try to keep a routine. It might take some trial and error to find out what works best for you. If you’re away from baby then it’s usually pump every 3 hours.
Because im 3 weeks postpartum and not producing much milk I was asked to pump 8 times a day. It’s a lot …
I've had 3 kiddos & I've done the same each kid. I'll typically nurse & then pump for 5-15 minutes after I'm done burping the baby etc. With my 1st baby I did this a lot, the other 2, I maybe pumped 2-4 times a day. It helps get your milk supply up. I always had milk in the freezer and never had to do formula. I was lucky, formula is pricey, if you can pump, I'd recommend it. Saves $$.
