Birth Control & Breastfeeding
Hey mamas! I’m looking for recommendations on birth control , I’m currently 3 months pp and trying to avoid having another little one for at least the next year or so. Have any of you gotten on birth control and had any issues with your milk supply decreasing? I’m also looking for birth control recommendations

Edit: you can get it out sooner than 5 years if you decide to you don’t have to leave it in all 5 years
My Dr put me on a progesterone only pill since I am pumping/breastfeeding. And said she normally does that for mom’s breastfeeding. I googled why and apparently progesterone/estrogen birth control can potentially affect milk supply but progesterone only birth control (mini pill) does Not affect supply. Oh also I didn’t want an iud or the bar. I usually do the ring but that’s combination type
I’m also on the progesterone pill. It has not affected my supply at all!
Mini pill has been great for me too!

I have an iud and it’s the best. The one I have stays in for 5 years and doesn’t mess with milk supply. I got it as soon as I was able to. My daughter is almost 4 months old (born 3 weeks early) and it hasn’t affected her at all.
