Most nurseries do visiting sessions during quiet times, towards the end of the evening when there are fewer children. Unless there is a cases of chicken pox, hand foot and mouth, covid, etc. Most nurseries aren't as germy as you think. You could, on the day of any visits, contact the nursery to ask them if they have cases of sickness if you're that concerned. Or alternatively, you could visit the nursery on your own and leaving your baby with your partner or another family member. M
You could always ask when booking visits how long their waiting lists are. My daughters nursery is well over a year now so we signed our August baby up after the 12 weeks scan. We already knew where we wanted her to go though.
My daughter was booked into our son’s nursery when I was 20 weeks pregnant. With the free childcare hours the spaces are being booked up quick I’d echo what everyone else has said and babe should be absolutely fine ☺️
We went to view nurseries when my baby was 6 weeks old and was told by a few we were already too late for her to start at 9 months old. I’d enquire with them first. I also made sure she was in her baby carrier and stopped any of the staff touching to help with her not picking up any illnesses x
We booked in my first trimester and were told we got the last spot for Aug 2025. It’s the nursery my toddler is currently at and we don’t like it though so I’ve been looking at nurseries recently to move them both to. Newborn has been with me to every viewing and it’s been completely fine! You’re not going to put them down or have them touching anything
