Do you wake up your baby for MOTN feeds?

We have a formula fed 9 week old, and are waking her up at 1-2am for her middle of the night feed after putting her down around 9pm. I’m thinking about seeing how long she can go without waking her. Wondering what your experiences have been?

let her sleep!! 🥰 my 8 week old eats at 9 pm and will wake up around 3-4am to feed again. as long as she is gaining weight and has no other issues i would allow her to sleep as long as she wants at nighttime!

@Ashley when they wake at 3-4 am, are they stressed/hungry? Or is it a gentle wake. And then do they go back down relatively easily after?

@Emily he wakes up just stirring and fussing a little and he eats and i change him and he goes right back to sleep!

Let her sleep! My LO eats between 9-10 and sleeps until 7. As long as she’s getting enough food during the day and, like Ashley said, gaining weight appropriately, don’t feel bad about getting those ZZZ’s!

I don’t wake my 10 week old at night but if he wakes by himself I feed him

Sleep! Baby will wake when hungry. If gaining and not stressed on weight gain then let baby sleep. Mine will sleep 9/9:30 to 2/3:30 and eat, change and go back to sleep until 6:30/7:30...

Mine is sleeping through the night for the most part. Rarely he will wake about 4-5am which is fine because once I go back to work next month 5am will be my wake up time. Just like everyone else said, the pediatrician said as long as they’re gaining weight there’s no need to wake them anymore.

I wouldn't. Mine is breast fed and I feed on demand so when he wakes up, we nurse. If he doesn't wake up for 5 hours then I get to get some sleep.

Let the baby sleep! We were told we could stop waking for MOTN feeds as soon as she hit birthweight again, she managed that in 3 days. She is 11 weeks Tuesday and she goes down at 8:30 and wakes around 5-4:30 to eat then goes back down till 8am:) she is breastfed though so I’m not sure if that makes a difference, I have no experience with formula fed babies:)

My 11week old has been (usually) sleeping through the night since around week 7. If they let you sleep, let them sleep!

You guys are giving me lots of encouragement, we are going to try! She did get her shots today so we will see how this plays out

We dream feed around 11:30 and she starts grunting and moving around 3-4 and I’ll feed her in her sleep again and then she’ll wake up around 6:30. I was concerned about diapers but her dr said it’s fine unless she goes potty or it’s very wet.

Nope

If they are gaining weight and getting enough oz during the day then I would let them sleep and tell you when they are hungry.. they could get used to waking at 1am even if they aren’t hungry and then it’s harder to get them to stop waking in the middle of the night

what my pediatrician said was as long as baby is gaining weight do not wake up baby 🫶🏻
